Henry retired from the Army on September 30, 1959, after more than 20 years of service. After the war, he was transferred from the 23rd Infantry to the 1st Guard Company with the Disciplinary Barracks and was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, except for his service in the Korean Conflict (October 20, 1952 - June 6, 1954). During the time in Korea, he served with the 728th Military Police.
After retirement from the Army, he worked as a Security Guard.
