SUMMARY OF HIS SERVICE:
17 weeks of Basic training at Camp Wheeler in Georgia. Shipped overseas as a casualty replacement arriving in England on January 9, 1945.
Star Football, Basketball and Baseball player in High School. Enlisted in summer before his senior year in high school. He had three brothers, one sister and a brother in law all serving our country overseas at the time of his deployment and death.
He had one remaining fifteen year old brother at home who was a veteran of the Korean War. His father and numerous uncles were all veterans of World War I.
