SUMMARY OF HIS SERVICE:

Martin was the son of Charles and Dora Goland, both Jewish immigrants from Poland. His younger brother PFC Hyman Bernard Goland also served in the US Army infantry (315 IR 79 ID) and was killed in action, in Hill 84 Montgardon, just days before on 3 July 1944. They are buried together at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer.
