Pfc. Russell J. Loniello, 22, was killed in action June 23, 1944 near St. Georges d'Elle, France, the war department notified his wife, Mrs. Lucille Loniello.
Born at Chippewa Falls, Pfc. Loniello moved to Madison with his parents in 1932, attended Central high school, and was employed at the Ray-O-Vac Co. before he was inducted in the army in March, 1942.
He was survived by his wife, a year-old son, Russell, Jr.; his mother; seven brothers, Cecil, Jack, Sam,Frank, Sgt. Joseph, with the army in Italy, John, and Emanuale, pharmacist's mate third class in the navy, and three sisters, Mrs. Peter Fiore, Mrs. Vincent Castagna, and Mrs. John Bruschi, all of Madison.
