SUMMARY OF HIS SERVICE:
William was stationed in Gladewater Texas, Camp Fannin Texas on April 15, 1944. He shipped out on August 12, 1944, he has an Indian Head patch and a patch of the 9th infantry.
William shared stores of riding a train in France and the locals coming out to throw fruit into the windows of the train and an apple hit the head a fellow soldier. He also talked about the very cold conditions and waking up buried under the snow in the Ardennes.
